Our Hope Chest Journey (Restart!)

Our school year started off with a bang - commonwealth & other things completely overwhelmed me & needed some time being adjusted to. But here we are again, starting Thursday (my computer was overtaken by Savannah as she listened to Uncle Tom's Cabin online), so I am sharing today what we're up to. (BTW Donna, I've been posting all of these on my personal blog too. I don't know if I let you know that or not?)


Day 1 (again) - Thursday

The girls and I ordered our tiaras! We're hoping to have them here by this thursday, which is our next mtg. (These stock pictures are taken by Donna).

Athena is somewhat reserved over the whole thing (the other teens we invited didn't have mothers that thought it was important - so sad), but isn't fighting me either. I'm very grateful for that. Venus and I are ecstatic though and when the tiaras come in we'll have to have our picture taken by dad!


Day 2 - Friday

It might be enough to say we concentrate every Friday on education, but this Friday when I got home I jumped onto Facebook to see what friends were up to, and noticed one friend was having a particularly bad time. I immediately had the impulse to do something for her, so Athena made the kids dinner while Iris kept them entertained so Venus and I could run to the store and buy a few do-dads (bagels, cream cheese, etc.) and take them to my friend. On the way Venus learned the value of following the spirit (those little impulses you get) immediately and serving your friends. Athena and Iris learned (because we discussed afterwards) that sometimes it's the behind the scenes work that makes the obvious service able to happen.
